Dana Wilson's Bio
















Dana Wilson is the President of Trinity Support Services, LLC, (TSS) a NJ-based consulting firm for community and economic development initiatives and faith-based initiatives.  TSS was established in 2008 and provides services to non-profits and small for-profits.

Ms. Wilson is the co-founder of National Educational Network, Inc. (NENI), a small 501 c3 non-profit based in Edison, NJ which provides academic and cultural programming for mostly urban at-risk youth and their families. Over the last 10 years, NENI has provided a variety of services, including: providing assistance during Hurricane Sandy, delivering holiday toys to needy children, providing college prep workshops to teens and their parents, providing tutoring programs for at-risk youth at the Edison Job Corps in partnership with the NAACP Metuchen-Edison Area Branch. NENI also provides workshops for child care providers, teachers, students and community leaders.  Since 2005, NENI has served as the co-sponsor of the largest Juneteenth NJ celebration in Middlesex County, NJ.


Ms. Wilson is also an assistant volunteer organizer for Non-Profit Executive Directors (NED). She assists with NED's social media, website development, developing meeting topic ideas, serving as a presenter, and strategic planning. This group (established in 2015) has already grown to more than 350 Executive Directors across the country.


Ms. Wilson is an administrator with more than 20 years of professional experience in​ the corporate and non-profit arenas. Ms. Wilson helped to bring in almost $5 million in grant awards (including $1 million in 2014) to schools and nonprofits in NJ. She has written grants for capital campaigns, program support, and general support/operating expenses. She has managed grants as large as $600,000 over a three-year period. She has experience with government, corporate and foundation grants.


Ms. Wilson is the former Director /Grant Writer for the Mercer County Educational Technology Training Center for teachers, an initiative of the NJ Department of Education. She also has 8 years of journalism experience at Dow Jones, Star-Ledger and two other newspapers. 

Ms. Wilson previously worked as a Grant Writer / Social Media for Greater Bergen Community Action, Inc., a $30 million nonprofit with more than 500 employees.  She also served as the Director of Development for the YWCA of CNJ in Plainfield and Unified Vailsburg Services Organization in Newark, NJ with a budget of $8 million, more than 200 employees, and more than 1,200 daily clients.   She is the current and founding state secretary of the NJ Chapter of the Grant Professionals Association. She also serves on the website/social media and conference committees.​

Ms. Wilson received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida in journalism and has taken additional graduate coursework at Rutgers University, focusing on nonprofit management and urban studies.  She is a trustee at St. Matthew Baptist Church in Roselle, N.J., where Rev. David Ford Sr. is Senior Pastor. She previously served as the President of the Women's Ministry, financial secretary, and webmaster. She is married to Rev. Steven A. Wilson, Sr., associate minister at St. Matthew Baptist Church, and is the proud mother of a son and daughter.  


Recent Achievements: 



  • $120,000 in grant awards in 2015 from Bank of America ($75K), TD Bank (20K), Wells Fargo ($25K) foundations.  These three grants (awarded to Newark CEDC) added 96 jobs to the Mayor of Newark's 2015 Summer Youth Employment Program.

  • U.S. Conference of Mayors, Wells Fargo 2015 CommunityWINS Grants, awarded Outstanding Achievement award to Newark, N.J., Mayor Ras Baraka with $75,000 awarded to Newark Community Economic Development Corporation.

  • 2015 City of Trenton CDBG Program, $29,750 grant award



  • Grant Awards: Total of $1 million + earned (100% of non-federal applications):

    • Bergen County Workforce Investment Board (two 2-year grants, $880K total)

    • National Credit Union Administration (OSCUI) grants for 1st Bergen FCU ($11.5K for mobile banking and summer intern)

    • NJ Center for Hispanic Policy, Research and Development ($35K/yr for ESL/Citizenship)

    • NJ Office of Faith Based Initiatives (three-year College Readiness grant, $30K/yr)

    • Turrell Fund ($30K child care).

  • Social Media: Increased Greater Bergen Community Action's Facebook followers by 67% and Twitter by 48% in six months.
