Dana Y. Wilson's Bio

 

Ms. Wilson is the President of Trinity Support Services, LLC, a consulting firm focusing on economic development, urban planning, faith-based initiatives, and professional development for minority and women-owned businesses.  She is also the founder of NENI (pronounced nen-ee), an educational non-profit that hosts several online programs including the NED group, a national Linked In group for 500 Non-Profit Executive Directors, predominately in the Tri-State area.

 

Ms. Wilson is also the Executive Director of the National Educational Network, Inc. (NENI), and is a seasoned non-profit leader with 20+ years of experience. She brings a wealth of expertise with particular strengths in grant writing, economic development, urban planning, technology, health and human services, elder care, education, workforce development, and volunteer management.  In addition, she has extensive experience training non-profits, women and minority-owned businesses, and faith-based organizations.

Ms. Wilson is the immediate Past President and founding member of the NJ Chapter of the Grant Professionals Association (NJGPA).  Under her leadership, NJGPA earned Chapter of the Year Awards in 2018 (for most members recruited and retention) and 2019 (for member retention). She also served as a grant reviewer (judge) for the NJ Department of Education and the NJ Office of Faith-Based Initiatives.

 

Ms. Wilson served as a Grant Writer for Middlesex County College and several other nonprofits. She also served as the Director of the Mercer County Educational Technology Training Center for teachers, a K-12 initiative of the NJ Department of Education. She also has 8 years of journalism experience at Dow Jones, Star-Ledger and two other newspapers.

  

Ms. Wilson received her Bachelor’s of Science degree in journalism from the University of Florida, ranked as one of the top 10 public colleges and the top 10 journalism colleges.  She is an African-American native New Yorker, who currently resides in Edison, NJ with her husband and two children.  Her husband, Rev. Steven A. Wilson, Sr., is the Pastor of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Jersey City.  She serves as First Lady and the Executive Director of the newly formed Mt Calvary CDC of Jersey City, which provides basic needs / food services for at-risk populations,  including (but not limited to) black and Hispanic residents, seniors, and unemployed individuals.
